Angie Kolistasis

Angie K, un’artista australiana di origini greche, ha iniziato a disegnare all’età di 12 anni e, a 16, ha studiato arte per corrispondenza presso la School of Art di Melbourne.

Pur continuando a dedicarsi al disegno e alla pittura come hobby, ha intrapreso una carriera nella produzione e nel design di moda femminile sotto l’etichetta Blondino Fashion dal 1982 al 1997.

Nel 1993, ha introdotto il design Peek-a-Boo Armhole, riuscendo a bilanciare le sue aspirazioni imprenditoriali con la crescita della sua famiglia.

Nel 2002, Angie K ha deciso di perfezionare le sue competenze artistiche in modo professionale e si è iscritta al diploma in Belle Arti presso il Kogarah College TAFE, laureandosi nel 2006.

Dal 2006 al 2008, ha gestito una galleria d’arte presso il Kogarah Town Center, vendendo sia le proprie opere che quelle di artisti locali, oltre a organizzare diverse importanti esposizioni.

Dal 2008 ad oggi, Angie K è rimasta attivamente coinvolta nella comunità artistica di Sydney, collaborando con numerose società artistiche, gallerie ed esposizioni. Molte delle mostre da lei curate o a cui ha partecipato hanno ricevuto grande apprezzamento.

Ispirata dai paesaggi e dai panorami marini australiani, Angie K esprime la bellezza che osserva attraverso un uso vibrante del colore. Predilige oli e acrilici per la pittura e carboncino per il disegno. Sebbene esplori diversi stili e tecniche, le sue opere astratte, paesaggistiche e impressionistiche sono tra le più apprezzate.

Dal 1998, Angie K ha vinto oltre 15 premi e ha esposto più di 130 volte sia a Sydney che all’estero. Tra i riconoscimenti più prestigiosi, ha ottenuto il Primo Premio – People’s Choice Award al Pyrmont Art Prize nel maggio 2015, nell’ambito del Pyrmont Food and Wine Festival.

Angie K, an Australian-Greek artist, began drawing at the age of 12 and, by 16, was studying art by correspondence at Melbourne’s School of Art. While she continued sketching and painting as a hobby, she pursued a career in fashion manufacturing and design under the Blondino Fashion label from 1982 to 1997.
In 1993 to1997, she introduced the Peek-a-Boo Armhole design while balancing her business aspirations with raising a family.

In 2002, Angie K decided to refine her artistic skills professionally and enrolled in a Fine Arts Diploma at Kogarah College TAFE, graduating in 2006.

From 2006 to 2008, she operated an art gallery at Kogarah Town Center, selling both her own artworks and those of local artists while organizing several major exhibitions.

Since 2008, Angie K has remained actively involved in the Sydney art community, collaborating with various art societies, galleries, and exhibitions. Many of the exhibitions she has curated or contributed to have received critical acclaim.

Inspired by Australia’s landscapes and seascapes, Angie K expresses the beauty she sees through vibrant use of color. She primarily works with oils and acrylics for painting and charcoal for sketching. While she explores various styles and techniques, her abstract, landscape, seascape, and impressionistic pieces are among the most popular.

Since 1998, Angie has won over 15 awards, Angie has won many Awards & exhibited over 130 times overseas & sydney including First Prize – People’s Choice Award at the Pyrmont Art Prize in May 2015, as part of the Pyrmont Food and Wine Festival.
